Budget 06: New carbon emission bandings for cars 
Chancellor Gordon Brown has reijigged rates for levies on pollution-producing vehicles. For those creating almost no pollution, their is no levy to pay. The bandings go up from 40 to 100, 125, 150, 190 and 210 for the most polluting vehicle.

Budget 06: Business investment outstrips inflation 
Gordon Brown said that business investment has been growing at 5% a year since 1997, outstripping inflation. Whereas investment was at 77bn in 1997, it is now 113bn, and will grow at 4.5-5.25% during 2007 and 2008.

PwC defends Rover fees 
Rover administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers has been paid 10m over the past 12 months since the collapse of the carmaker. The fees are split between 8m for work on MG Rover and 2.1m on its engine business Powertrain.
